1. About us
Kingston Cab London arranges pre-booked private hire travel across Kingston upon Thames and the surrounding parts of south-west London and Surrey. Every trip is fulfilled by a TfL licensed private hire operator, driver and vehicle.
You can reach us at Park Rd, Kingston upon Thames KT2 5LS, on 020 3740 2841, or by email at info@kingstoncab.co.uk. Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, we act as data controller for the information covered here.
2. Key terms
A "booking" is a journey request we have accepted. The "operator" is the TfL licensed firm that runs the trip. A "passenger" is anyone riding on a booking. "Personal data" is anything that identifies you, directly or indirectly.
3. What we gather
Booking or contacting us usually involves sharing some of the following.
- Name, phone number and email
- Where to collect you, where you are heading, and when
- Head count, bags and the car size you need
- Flight or train details and any meet and greet request
- Extra notes such as a child seat, a dog travelling with you or mobility needs
- Card details, handled by our payment provider rather than by us
- Our notes from calls, emails and messages about the trip
Visiting the site also creates technical data, for example your IP address, device and browser, the pages opened and the time of the visit.
4. Why we use it
- To accept, confirm and run your booking
- To give the operator and driver what they need for the journey
- To follow flight and train times and move pickups to match
- To take payment and email your receipt
- To keep you posted about changes, delays or problems
- To handle enquiries, complaints, refunds and lost items
- To keep the booking records TfL requires of licensed operators
- To make the website and service better
5. Lawful basis
Most of this processing is necessary to deliver the journey you asked for. Some is needed to meet legal record keeping duties. The rest rests on our legitimate interest in running a safe, efficient business. Where we ask for consent, such as for offers by email, you may withdraw it whenever you like.
6. Sharing
Your data only goes where it has to.
- The operator and driver handling your trip
- Our booking software and payment companies, acting under our instructions
- Transport for London, the police or other bodies when legally required
- Accountants, insurers or solicitors when their advice is needed
Your data is never sold.
7. Retention
Booking records are held for the period set by TfL for licensed operators and the law generally, then securely deleted. Anything kept for marketing stays only until you opt out.
8. Offers and updates
Promotional messages are sent only if you have said yes to them. To stop them, email info@kingstoncab.co.uk with "unsubscribe" as the subject.
9. Cookies
The website relies on cookies and similar tools to function and to count visits, and the booking form may add its own. Switching cookies off can stop parts of the site, including the booking form, from working. Our cookie policy has the detail.
10. Who can book
Bookings must be made by someone aged 18 or over. Younger people can travel as passengers on a booking made by an adult.
11. Security
We apply sensible technical and organisational safeguards against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Card payments run through our payment provider, and full card numbers are not stored on this website.
12. Your rights
UK data protection law lets you:
- Get a copy of the data we hold on you
- Have mistakes corrected
- Have data erased where the law permits
- Object to, or limit, how we process it
- Move your data to another organisation
- Take back consent you have given
Contact us with the details in section 1 and we will reply within one calendar month.
13. Raising a concern
Please talk to us first if something has gone wrong with your data, so we have the chance to fix it. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
14. Updates to this page
This policy may be revised now and then. The current version always lives here, with the last updated date shown at the top.
