A station in the middle of everything
Charing Cross is small for a London terminus, but its location is hard to beat. Southeastern trains run from here through London Bridge to Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Hastings and Ashford.
Walk out of the front doors and you are on the Strand. The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, Covent Garden and the theatres of the West End are all close enough to reach on foot, which is why so many of our trips here are evenings out rather than trains.
West End taxi from Kingston
An evening in the West End is a treat. The journey home on a late, crowded train back to Kingston is less fun. With a booked West End taxi from Kingston, you leave from your door, step out close to the theatres and go home at the time you choose.
Tell us the show and roughly when it ends. Shows sometimes overrun, so a quick call on the night is all it takes to move the pickup.

The route into WC2
Charing Cross is about 12 miles from Kingston. Drivers usually take the A3 to Wandsworth, follow the river to Vauxhall Bridge, then run along Millbank, past Parliament and up Whitehall to the Strand.
Allow around 45 minutes in light traffic and 65 minutes at busy times. These are typical estimates. Charing Cross is inside the Congestion Charge zone, which applies to private hire vehicles during charging hours.
Closures around Westminster
Parliament Square and Whitehall host marches, ceremonies and state events throughout the year, and roads close at short notice. When that happens, our drivers come in along the Embankment or from the Waterloo side. If we know about a closure in advance, we will suggest an earlier pickup.
Drop-off on the Strand
Out front sits the Eleanor Cross on its little forecourt, and cars cannot linger there. Your driver stops at the closest legal spot, usually on the Strand or just round the corner, and will find an easier place if you have mobility needs.
Days out in Kent
Charing Cross is a good starting point for a day in Kent, from the castles of the Weald to the old streets of Tunbridge Wells. A car to the station means you can travel light and start the day on time. Call us from the train on the way home and the driver will be waiting.
Business in Whitehall and Covent Garden
Offices on Whitehall, Northumberland Avenue and around Covent Garden are all a few minutes away, and our business customers use this run for meetings and events. Every trip can come with an emailed receipt.
Dinner and a show
A typical West End evening from Kingston starts with dinner around Covent Garden and ends after the curtain at one of the theatres on the Strand or Shaftesbury Avenue. Book one car into town and another home at a set time. If you are a group, a 7 seater taxi keeps everyone together and splits the fare nicely.
Late night home to Kingston
The last trains back to Kingston can be busy and slow after a late show. A booked car means no rush at the end of the evening. The driver waits close to the theatre and calls you when you come out.
Cars for the trip
Saloons carry four passengers with two large cases, and estates add boot space. Our 6 seater taxi and 7 seater taxi suit theatre groups and families.
Group outings into town
Office parties, hen nights and birthday dinners in the West End often involve a group from Kingston. Our larger cars mean the group arrives together and goes home together, with one fixed price for the whole car.
Charing Cross cab prices
You get a single fixed fare when you book, paid by card or cash. The form on this page shows it straight away, or call 020 3740 2841.
Nearby stations and hotels
Waterloo is just across the river and has direct trains back to Kingston. Many Southeastern trains also call at London Bridge. For the south coast, see the taxi from Kingston to Victoria Station. If your evening includes a hotel stay, our hotel transfer taxi covers the West End. We collect from across our area, including Thames Ditton and Hampton Wick.
