Why one big car beats two small ones
Splitting a group across two or three taxis looks simple on paper. In practice one car is early, another is stuck at the Kingston Bridge lights and somebody ends up waiting outside the restaurant alone. One 8 seater taxi in Kingston upon Thames removes all of that.
It is still a car, not a coach, so it fits on residential roads, pulls up outside your front door and uses normal set-down points at stations and terminals.
Groups we carry
Seven and eight seat bookings come from all sorts of people.
- Extended families flying out on holiday together
- Wedding parties moving between house, church and reception
- Sports teams and clubs on the way to fixtures
- Office teams heading to meetings, away days or client dinners
- Friends on a birthday night out or a stag or hen do
- Visitors who want a day of sightseeing with one driver

Group airport transfers from Kingston
Airport runs are where a large group cab hire pays for itself. Everyone checks in together and nobody is left in arrivals waiting for a second car.
We track every flight and offer meet and greet with a name board. Large families often book the Kingston to Heathrow Airport taxi for long-haul trips, while groups on city breaks tend to use the Kingston to Stansted Airport transfers or London City Airport cabs from Kingston.
Be honest about the luggage
Here is the one catch with any 8 seater. With every seat full, boot space shrinks. Eight adults with eight large cases will not fit. Give us a full list of large cases, small bags and anything bulky, and we will tell you straight whether one car works or whether you need a second.
Minibus taxi or large MPV?
The phrase minibus taxi with driver gets used for all sorts of vehicles. What we run is a large MPV with seven or eight proper seats and a belt for each one. We do not run 12 or 16 seat minibuses. For a party of nine or more, the usual fix is our large MPV plus a 6 seater taxi or a saloon, both booked for the same minute.
Event days around Kingston
South-west London hosts some of the biggest sporting days in the calendar. Rugby internationals at Twickenham, the tennis at Wimbledon and race meetings at Sandown Park and Epsom Downs all mean closures and heavy traffic. A pre-booked group taxi with a driver who knows the drop-off points is far easier than a crowded train. Book well ahead for those dates.
Weddings and celebrations
Weddings at Hampton Court, along the river or in the hotels around Richmond Park need careful timing. A 7/8 seater is ideal for bridesmaids, ushers and family. We can book each leg of the day separately, every one at a fixed price, so hosts know the full cost in advance. Our hotel transfer taxi page covers guest runs from hotels.
Planning a large group pickup
The more people in the group, the more a little planning helps. Pick one person as the main contact and give us their mobile number. Make sure everyone knows the pickup time and place, and that bags are packed and ready by the door. If the group is collecting from more than one address, give us every address when booking so the route is planned in advance and included in the fixed price.
Coming home from an event
Getting a large group home after a wedding, a concert or a match can be harder than getting there. Book the return at the same time as the outward trip, agree a clear meeting point and keep a phone switched on. Our booking line is answered all night, so if plans change, call us and we will move the pickup.
A day out by the hour
Planning a London day trip for the whole family? Hire the large MPV for a block of hours rather than a single journey. Your driver handles the stops, the parking and the traffic while you see the sights. We price hourly hire as a fixed sum, agreed on the phone before the day.
What a large group taxi costs
Each 8 seater journey is priced up front. On its own the fare is higher than a saloon, yet divided between seven or eight people it usually works out cheaper per head than trains or two separate cars. The driver takes one payment for the vehicle, by card or cash.
Booking your group car
Pick the 7/8 seater on the form on this page, or ring 020 3740 2841. Have ready the headcount, a rough list of bags, each pickup address and the time you need to be there. Weddings and days with lots of stops are easier over the phone, so call and we will map out the timings together.
