Fixed Price Cab to Stansted from Kingston

Stansted is roughly 55 miles from Kingston town centre. On a meter, a jam on the M25 could add a painful amount to the bill. With a fixed price cab to Stansted, the number you agree on the phone or online is the number you pay, however the motorway behaves.

The rail alternative is long. A train to Waterloo, the Underground across town and then the Stansted Express from Liverpool Street or Tottenham Hale. With bags and children, that is a tiring start to a holiday. A car does the whole thing in one go.

Early Morning and Late Night Taxi to Stansted

Stansted is famous for early flights. Many short-haul departures leave around 6am, which means leaving Kingston at around 2.30 or 3am. Public transport at that hour is thin at best.

Because we answer the phone all night, a 3am pickup for Stansted is an ordinary job for our drivers. In peak summer weeks, book a couple of days ahead and the car will be outside at the time you chose.

Stansted has a single terminal, with the drop-off zone right in front of it.

Stansted Airport Drop-Off and Pickup

Stansted has a single terminal building. Every airline uses it, so there is no terminal to choose when you book.

Drop-Off Zone

The drop-off zone runs in front of the terminal. The airport charges vehicles that use it and limits how long they can stop, so have your passports ready. Your driver unloads quickly and you walk straight into departures.

Meet and Greet Pickup

Coming home, we follow your flight number. Choose meet and greet and the driver stands in the arrivals hall holding your name. Otherwise they ring you once you clear passport control.

Route via M11, Time and Distance

From Kingston, the usual route joins the M25 at junction 10 via the A3, or at junction 12 via the A308 and the M3. It then runs clockwise around the west and north of London, past the turn-offs for the M4, M40 and M1, to junction 27. From there the M11 takes you north to junction 8 and the airport.

The trip is about 55 miles. In clear traffic it takes around 75 minutes. At busy times, particularly on the stretch of the M25 near the M4 and M40 junctions, it can take close to two hours. These are typical times, so leave a margin. Some drivers prefer a route through London and the A406 when the M25 is badly blocked.

Timing Your Stansted Pickup

The busiest stretches of the M25 are around the Heathrow and M40 junctions, especially on weekday mornings and Friday afternoons. If your flight leaves in the middle of the day, it is worth leaving earlier than you think and relaxing at the airport.

Late at night and early in the morning, the motorway is much clearer, and the trip is often at the quicker end of our estimate. That is one reason so many of our Stansted bookings are for the small hours.

Coming Home from Stansted

Long trips home after a holiday are where a pre-booked car really helps. Your driver tracks your flight, meets you in arrivals if you ask and drives you all the way back to Kingston. No train to Liverpool Street, no Underground and no last train home to worry about.

Group Trips and Stag or Hen Weekends

Stansted Minicab Booking and Phone Number

Typically about 75 minutes in clear traffic and up to two hours at busy times. The M25 near the M4 and M40 junctions is the usual slow spot.

How many terminals does Stansted have?

Just one, shared by every airline, so there is no terminal box to fill in when booking.

Can a car collect me from Kingston in the middle of the night?

Yes. Night pickups for early Stansted flights are a big part of what we do. Just book in advance.

Is the Stansted drop-off charge included?

Stansted charges cars that use the forecourt drop-off. We explain how that sits within your fixed fare at booking.

My return flight is late. Does that cost more?

We track your flight and move the pickup to your real landing time. The price does not change.

Train or taxi to Stansted, which works out cheaper?

For one person travelling light, the train usually costs less. For families, groups or very early flights, one fixed price for the whole car is often better value.
