A neighbourhood without a station
Ham sits between Richmond Park and the Thames, about two and a half miles from Kingston. It has buses and a lovely setting, but no station. For anyone going to the railway at Kingston or Richmond, carrying shopping home or getting back late, a taxi fills the gap.
That is why so many of our Ham bookings are short, regular trips. The station run, the supermarket, the GP and the ride home after an evening out.
Ham Common and Ham Parade
Ham Common is the green heart of the area, surrounded by old houses and the Royal Oak and New Inn pubs. Ham Parade, on Upper Ham Road, has the local shops. Our drivers stop safely beside both and will call you on arrival.
Ham House and the riverside
Ham House is a 17th century house and garden run by the National Trust, set right beside the Thames. Visitors come from all over, and the walk along the river to Richmond is a classic. If you walk one way, we can collect you from the other end, or from the roads near Ham House itself.
Richmond Park from the Ham side
The Ham Gate leads into Richmond Park, and the roads nearby are busy with walkers and cyclists at weekends. We drop off and collect near the gate. Bringing the dog? Book our pet friendly taxi so the driver knows to expect a muddy passenger.
Petersham Road to Richmond and Kingston
Petersham Road runs north from Ham to Richmond, past Petersham Meadows. Upper Ham Road and Richmond Road run south into Kingston. Both are useful routes, and our drivers know which is quicker at different times of day.
Longer journeys from Ham
Ham is a good starting point for trips west. Our Kingston to Heathrow Airport taxi collects here, as does the Luton Airport taxi from Kingston. For rail journeys, the Kingston to Paddington minicab heads north through Richmond and Chiswick.

Getting to Kingston Hospital and local GPs
Ham residents without a car often find hospital and GP visits tricky by bus. A booked taxi to Kingston Hospital or a local surgery is simple, and you can book the return at the same time or call when you are ready.
